Luka Oboladze is an experienced saber coach and former Georgian National Team fencer, bringing extensive international competitive experience and more than a decade of coaching athletes across a wide range of ages and ability levels.
During his competitive career, Luka represented Georgia at the national championships, European Championships, World Cups, World Championships, and the Summer Universiade. His career includes European U23 team gold and bronze medals, among other international results.
From 2016 to 2026, Luka coached at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in New York, where he spent a decade working with fencers ranging from complete beginners to experienced regional and national competitors. Throughout his coaching career, Luka has developed the ability to adapt his teaching to the individual—whether introducing a young student to fencing for the first time, developing a competitive youth athlete, or working with an adult who has discovered the sport later in life.
A significant part of Luka's coaching background has been his work with adult recreational and competitive fencers. He has extensive experience helping adults learn and develop in the sport, tailoring his coaching to each student's experience, athletic background, and individual goals. His experience also includes working with professional actors and movie stars, further demonstrating his ability to communicate fencing concepts effectively to students with very different backgrounds and objectives.
Beyond the traditional fencing club environment, Luka has been involved in adult fencing programs and fencing programs within New York City public schools, helping introduce the sport to a broader range of students and communities. These experiences have given him a particularly broad perspective on teaching fencing and developing successful programs for students of different ages and experience levels.
His coaching combines strong technical development with tactical decision-making, timing, distance control, adaptability, and competition preparation, while maintaining an individualized approach based on each student's experience and objectives.
Luka is also the founder of MyFencing24.com, an evolving online fencing education platform dedicated to making high-quality tactical and strategic fencing knowledge more accessible. The platform expands upon Luka's coaching philosophy through educational resources designed to help fencers deepen their understanding of fencing tactics, strategy, training, and competition beyond the traditional lesson environment.
Luka is excited to bring his international competitive background, decade of coaching experience in New York, and ability to work with fencers of all ages and levels to Titan Fencing Academy.
